OUR STORY

It all started in August of 1986, Mid-America Piano sprouted from a small seed. With 3 used pianos, a 900 square foot warehouse and a worn-out church van he bought at an auction, Dan Murphy started Mid-America Piano in his hometown of Manhattan, Kansas. Intent on locating quality, affordable pianos for the local community, family and friends, Dan set out on his quest.

30 years later, we are proud of our hard-earned reputation as one of the best places in the country to find quality pianos at affordable prices. Families and individuals, beginners and professionals, churches and schools… thousands of satisfied customers are our best advertisement.

Our goal is to provide you with the finest piano at the absolute best price. After 30 years, we have established a huge network of piano dealers, piano technicians, piano teachers and a variety of other sources where we find clean, pre-owned pianos. We then bring the pianos to our store, make necessary repairs and adjustments, detail the cabinets, tune them and make them “showroom” ready.

Although we are known nationally for our selection of quality “like-new” pianos, we carry a great variety of new grand, vertical and digital pianos as well.
