2. My Country ‘Tis of Thee<\/a>
\n<\/strong>also known as “America,” is an\u00a0American\u00a0patriotic song, whose lyrics were written bySamuel Francis Smith. The melody used is the British national anthem, “God Save the Queen,” arranged by\u00a0Thomas Arneand used by many members of the\u00a0Commonwealth of Nations. The song served as a\u00a0de facto\u00a0national anthem of the United States before the adoption of “The Star-Spangled Banner” as the official anthem in 1931.

3. America, The Beautiful<\/a>
\n<\/strong>is an\u00a0American\u00a0patriotic song. The lyrics were written by\u00a0Katharine Lee Bates\u00a0and the music composed by church organist and choirmaster\u00a0Samuel A. Ward.\u00a0Ward’s music combined with the Bates poem was first published in 1910 and titled\u00a0America the Beautiful<\/em>.The song is one of the most beloved and popular of the many American patriotic songs.[1]<\/sup>\u00a0From time to time it has been proposed as a replacement for\u00a0The Star-Spangled Banner<\/em>\u00a0as the national anthem, including television\u00a0sign-offs.

4. You’re a Grand Old Flag<\/a>
\n<\/strong>is a patriotic song of the\u00a0United States. The song, a spirited\u00a0march\u00a0written by\u00a0George M. Cohan, is a tribute to the\u00a0U.S. flag. In addition to obvious references to the flag, it incorporates snippets of other popular songs, including one of his own. Cohan wrote it in 1906 for\u00a0George Washington, Jr.<\/em>, his\u00a0stage musical.
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

5. Anchors Aweigh<\/a>
\n<\/strong>is the\u00a0fight song\u00a0of the\u00a0United States Naval Academy, and strongly associated with the\u00a0United States Navy, composed in 1906 by\u00a0Charles A. Zimmerman\u00a0with lyrics by\u00a0Alfred Hart Miles. Zimmerman was at the time a Lieutenant, and had been bandmaster of the\u00a0United States Naval Academy Band\u00a0since 1887. Miles was Midshipman First Class at the Academy, in the class of 1907, and asked Zimmerman to assist him in composing a song for that class, to be used as a football march.
\n<\/strong><\/p>\n

6. The U.S. Armed Forces Medley<\/a>
\n<\/strong>is comprised of 6 songs, including: America, the Beautiful<\/em>, Eternal Father, Strong to Save<\/em>, Semper Paratus<\/em>, The U.S. Air Force<\/em>, The Caissons Go Rolling Along<\/em>, and The Marine’s Hymn.<\/em><\/p>\n

7. Yankee Doodle<\/a>
\n<\/strong>is a well-known\u00a0Anglo-American\u00a0song, the origin of which dates back to the\u00a0Seven Years’ War. It is often sung\u00a0patriotically\u00a0in the\u00a0United States\u00a0today and is the\u00a0state anthem\u00a0of\u00a0Connecticut.<\/p>\n
